The Assembly computer festival was held from 1st to 4th of August, 2013 in Hartwall arena at Pasila, Finland. It’s not just a LAN or gaming party, but a gathering of demoscene groups and “demoparrat”.
I’ve been part of Assembly Organizing’s LiveCrew since 2008 as a photographer. Somehow we’ve entitled our five person crew as “PhotoCrew”, but to be honest, we’re still part of a bigger picture. No, we don’t get paid for it – Assembly is a way of life more than anything else. And that’s okay for us. We’re nuts.
You can check all of our photos from here: http://assembly.galleria.fi/kuvat/Assembly+Summer+2013/ (please ignore the nakkivene)
- The arena before everything’s been put together.
- Wait, what’s hanging there?
- Setting up the lightboard of the arena.
- AssemblyTV running its show after the loading doors opened.
- Are you still there?
- The Super Sound of Video Games’ concert.
- Bottoms. Tee hee hee hee.
- Robots were trying to take over the hall. They’ve built themselves ears.
- Snap.
- The arena at full nerdiness.
- Gentlemen.
- Robowars with pyrotechnic effects. They weren’t nearly as cool as this image presents.
- A typical Finn.
- And who said Korean Starcraft players show no emotion? The first and second one are hugging after the final match.
- The winner of Assembly Summer 2013’s ASUS ROG Starcraft 2 tournament, TaeJa.
fucking awesome dude
I am working on a small university project about assembly and I came here to find inspiration.
While I was going through the pictures I found myself in one of them (I am the kid with the Teletubbies costume).
Not sure if you are going to see this but thank you for posting this many years back.
Good memories
