These are the behind the scenes and outtake photos of Project L: Part 34 – The match factory.
Lately all I’ve written about the projects has been the weather and how cold and windy it is. But that’s not all about the project’s models freezing their buttocks off, but about the wind catching on your strobe’s umbrella and knocking the damn thing over. This has happened to me way too many times I’d like to admit, but so far I’ve been extremely lucky.
This is another reason I don’t really like using strobes, but I rather prefer to use and manipulate the ambient lighting. The main reason is that while proper, thoughtfully set up lighting really makes an image stand out, I personally don’t like it. I’m not shooting fashion, I’m shooting real emotions, real feelings of people wearing latex.
Sure, many of the photos are posed, but meanwhile – between these poses – it’s wonderful to find out the real human being in front of the camera.
About the process
of photography
I love natural light (except when it’s noon and the light and its shadows are sharpest). It’s just so… real. Especially when it’s diffused by the surrounding buildings, thus creating a soft, beautiful light that really enhances the colour of the graffitis and Didi’s suit.
I’m slowly getting over the overuse of the new 11-24mm f/4L, but to be honest, I’ve never been so excited over a new lens. So feel free to expect me to overuse it some more in the near future.

Very, very nice pictures
wonderful
Wow!! This is even better than the last one. I love the thought of latex as every day clothing and not just for the dungeon and fetish clubs. I look forward to future updates.
Wow, great combination of Catsuit and the stockings. And a lovely place to shot!
Oustanding pictures !
latex in everyday life is simply great !
Love the details about latexed legs, feet and hand ! Look stunning !
Dear Tuomas,
I’ve been going through all of Project L’s galleries and enjoying them very much! The idea is great and while the main focus is on casual outfits, as opposed to erotic or fetish photography, I still think that your models look really sexy in their outfits, although not in a “in your face”, but in a rather subtle kind of way. Thumbs up for that! :)
But I just had to give some comments about this one. First, I do love Tii’s outfit, I really do. The colour scheme is awesome and the corset, gloves and stockings – ESPECIALLY the stockings! – add even more sexyness to the outfit. It looks great, but at the same time, there’s somthing slightly disturbing about the whole look: I guess it is the wig that makes it somewhat manga-ish. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy reading manga or watching anime and I like a good cosplay, but I’m having a hard time with it in the context of Project L. I hope you can see my point here.
… but even this wouldn’t be all that bad if it wasn’t for the photos (luckily just a few ;) ) with the katana. What is casual about a katana in an abandoned factory? You can’t talk your way outta this one, Tuomas! :D Still, I have to give Tii some credit: at least she knows how to hold the thing.
Back to serious: keep up the good work man! To me, adding some more latex, like the stockings and gloves, is a great idea to introduce even more variety to the outfits that you already possess. And it’s cheaper than buying whole catsuits ;) Looking forward to more projects!
All the best from Germany!
David
Oh, and one question: is there a trick to the stockings staying up like that without suspenders? My wife’s ones roll themselves down the leg once she starts moving around if we don’t fix them…
By the way, if my post sounded like too much like a rant, then please know that was not my intention. I was trying to be humorous ;)
Actually the socks just stayed on. They never started to drop or roll off, i didn’t even had to pull them higher. :)
Good for you, Didi! :D Is it always the same, even when you don’t wear a catsuit underneath them? Then maybe yours are better quality than ours…
Yup, they would propably stay up forever :D Mine are from westward bound latex :)
Ok, ours were way cheaper :D
Do you have more stuff by Westward Bound?
[can’t reply to your comment, there’s no “Reply”-button under it…]
I only have those from WWB, lucky shot at ebay :D
Congratulations :D A VERY lucky shot, as they fit perfectly :)
Where did you get the gloves and the corset, if I may ask?
And about the katana: I think I have seen that tsuba before, is it from an anime?
