These are the behind the scenes and outtake photos of Project L: Part 42 – Bright autumn.
I’m late, I know. And I’m sorry. It doesn’t usually take ten whole days to publish a project’s behind the scenes, but the ever greyer and greyer autumn really takes its toll. Inspiration is lacking and there are constant new monetary expenses eating up on your morale. They say money doesn’t bring happiness, but it sure would lessen one’s worries.
Oh well.
Sometimes it’s easy to choose which photos are in the main project and which are the behind the scenes ones. The choice is especially hard for me, as what Project L’s audience seems to want are those natural, life-looking photos – the ones that don’t necessarily have the traditional requirements for photography; the composition is not perfect, a limb is cut off, the look on a model’s face is not exactly perfect.
If I’d publish only the top-notch photos, I’d do exactly that what most photographers do: pick only the cherries from the cake and thus leave a clean, perhaps even a clinical feel to the project. But Project L can be imperfect. The models aren’t professional because I don’t want the photos to be non-relatable. I want to convey that everyone can be like the models.
Of course, as a photographer I still strive to show the models in the best possible way. But whilst striving for the best outlook, I must leave room for the imperfections.

Don’t be so hard on yourself mate. The work you do is phantastic and i don’t know who tought you that photos have to be perfect, but please punch that person in the stomach for me.
Seriously….the best photographers are, in my opinion, those who make the unusual, the imperfect, look elegant. A perfect photo is just that -perfect – an imperfect one tells a story. Like the last picture in this Series, the Hands. Latex covered hands are weird, pretty, and sensational to touch or experience. Really special. And everything else is blurred, except the scarf so we can identify that this was indeed taken on the same day. Was the model silently pondering the alien feel of gloved hands – probably. You cought her meditating on her strange strange hands.
That is art ! Dammnit !
Thanks, this all means a lot to me. But still, sometimes I just have to stop and wonder whether the photos I take are actually what I want to shoot and whether they convey what I want to show to the viewers. It’s a necessary part of becoming a better photographer. Oh what the hell, stopping sometimes and looking what you’re doing is a necessary part of life, even.
I think that your work conveys what you want. That latex is just fabric.
I admit that I would be totally shocked to see some one out and about wearing latex. I’ll also admit that even when I started viewing your work that I saw latex purely as a fetish. But since I have been following Project L slowly but surely my mind has started to change.
I would still like to add that Jasmine is my favorite model. She is beautiful with or without the latex.
I find most of your work totally stunning. Some of it I have more criticism for because of certain characteristics of the framing or other technical errors. That doesn’t mean it’s shit though. I think that you have been improving and should continue to do so.
I totally agree with you ,I wear latex clothes under my normal clothes sometimes and it feels really nice
Beautiful model ,modelling beautiful latex. Well done ,you’re not bafoons .brilliant photography, regards . mike
